Fernandez Designworks provides residential design consultation, utilizing 3D models to generate preliminary designs as well as complete working drawings. We service clients in the Blue Hill peninsula and surrounding areas of Belfast, Bangor, and MDI who are seeking to build a new house, renovate an existing residence, or create an addition. We help our inspired clients to transform their ideas for their homes into comprehensive designs and easily-understood blueprints for skilled builders to follow. Fernandez Designworks is committed to providing the highest quality experience to our clients throughout the entire design process.
SERVICES
Initial Consultation
We will meet to discuss your home design for 1 hour. You will receive a follow up email communicating your design parameters and the scope of work.
Preliminary Design
We establish the design scheme through 2D drawings and 3D computer models, to be reviewed by you.
Estimation Drawings
We further develop the design to facilitate estimating material and labor costs by your builder or building supply company
Construction Documents
We present a finalized design through comprehensive blueprints that are easily-interpreted by your builder and subcontractors.

Meet the Designer
Cris Fernandez is a residential designer who has over 20 years experience in residential design and construction. Mr. Fernandez began building houses in 1999 while living in western Washington state. His design tastes were greatly influenced by the Queen Anne and Shingle styles as well as the Craftsman bungalows that are prominent in the Northwest.
After working for several years as a custom home builder, Mr. Fernandez studied residential design at a small community college in southeast Michigan. Learning to create blueprints, on drawing boards by hand, gave him a solid foundation in architectonics. He also trained in computer-assisted design.
Mr. Fernandez been working as an architectural draftsman in 2004. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Fernandez worked with Knight Architect Associates of Blue Hill, Maine, producing construction drawings from completed designs. This time period gave him a strong appreciation for contemporary New England architecture. More recently, Mr. Fernandez has worked as a freelance residence designer, producing 3-D models for waterfront homes and his hometown Sarasota, Florida.
Mr. Fernandez returned to Downeast Maine in 2022. He began Fernandez Designworks to offer simple and elegant solutions in residential design for those on the Blue Hill peninsula and surrounding areas. Mr. Fernandez brings these unique experiences together to create a deep understanding of resident design able to transform your vision of home into a reality.
